FAQs:
Is it done yet?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the work, we are unable to call customers with status updates. We do, however, call as soon as all of the repairs are complete and your unit is ready for pickup. If you haven't heard from us, it isn't ready yet.
What's the $75 deposit for?
The $75 deposit covers the time it takes for our technicians to sit down with your unit and run detailed diagnostics to determine exactly what is wrong. This deposit is then deducted from your total repair costs, but is non refundable in the event that there is nothing wrong with your unit (or it is beyond repair).
Do you guys have a warranty on your repairs?
We always stand by our work, however electronics can be finicky, especially when working on vintage pieces. For this reason, we have a 90-day warranty on any repairs completed in our shop. This warranty does not cover any damages that may be incurred due to misuse or abuse of your unit after you pick it up.
Can I talk to a tech?
Yes and no. The technicians are very busy. They sometimes literally have both hands full while performing surgery on a unit. Most of the time someone will be able to answer any questions you may have.
Do you guys sell stuff?
Once in a great while we have things for sale, the best thing to do is check out the shop and see what has a price tag.
Do you guys buy stuff?
We will sometimes purchase broken equipment to use for spare parts. This is on a case-by-case basis but feel free to call or email us about it.

How long do I have to pick it up?
We give 30 days after the date of completion for you to pick up your unit. If we do not hear from after 30 days, we will start charging storage costs. The storage fees depend on the size of the unit and how long it has been here. We're not jerks, so if you are ill or traveling, we have no problem waiting—just let us know. If you do not return our phone calls for 90 days, we will dispose of your unit.
What happens if I don’t pick it up then?
We start charging storage after 30 days. We sell or dispose of any abandoned units after 90 days if we have had no contact from the customer.
How long will the repair take?
The diagnostic process alone typically takes a few days, but can be up to a week (unless the problem is very intermittent.) The repair itself may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Repair times vary greatly depending on what is wrong with your piece, whether or not we have necessary parts, whether or not parts are on backorder when we order them, etc., etc. We always try to turn things around as quickly as possible.
How much will it cost?
We often get asked for a "ballpark" price on a repair. Unfortunately we can't always give you one. Just as a doctor can't tell you what's wrong with you before running a few tests first, we can't guess what exactly will be wrong with your piece until we open it up and test it. We always do our best to let you know if we don't think a repair will be worth it, but we don't always know if that is the case.
